FMP DEVELOPMENT LOG 6

TUESDAY:

Today, myself and Jack didn't go to college as we were attending a gig in London for our unit 13 research report. We went to go and see PREP which is Novacanes biggest musical influence.

WEDNESDAY:

In our production lesson, we mixed and mastered Illusions. It is now ready to go onto our EP. Our EP will be self titled 'Novacane' and I created the cover art for it. This is what the front cover of our EP should look like:

After our production lesson we had an academic lesson where I continued to square away my coursework and made a plan for how I was going to get all unit 12 completed over half term so that I didn't have to worry about it at the o2 gig.

After our lunch break, we presented our digital presentation as Novacane. This presentation was about our style, genre, influences, social media and how our stage presence would be at the o2. Our presentation went really well, and we covered all the criteria that we needed to.

After our presentation, we had a band rehearsal with Ross. We timed our set and without interludes or song introductions, our set has come up to 23 minutes so far. We were considering writing another song, but at this point in the course, we feel as though that writing another song would be too much time wasted and too much pressure on us, taking into consideration that we also have coursework that we need to complete.

THURSDAY:

On Thursday we had a band meeting, rehearsal and made a rehearsal plan video. This video includes our sound checks, run throughs and band discussions. Here it is:

FRIDAY:

On Friday morning I had a rehearsal with my solo band. Our set is almost complete now, we just need to add the finishing touches to two covers and then we'll be finished and ready for the o2. After this we had a Novacane rehearsal, again Ross couldn't make the rehearsal but we still practiced our set without guitar and it sounded great.

Our band plan for next week is to rehearse on stage with Ross as much as possible as this will be the final week before our gig and we would like to be as confident as we can in a stage atmosphere.
