BIO
VOCALIST AND PIANIST

I am a seventeen year old singer songwriter, specialising in funk, jazz and R&B music. Some of my biggest musical influences are Amy Winehouse, Tom Misch, and Etta James.
This show reel is includes performances, recordings, photos and articles of me as a soloist and as a member of my pop-funk band Novacane.
VIDEOS AND PHOTOS
This is a video of me covering "On My Mind" by Jorja Smith. It is one of my favourite R&B songs. I decided to cover this song in particular, because I feel as though it allows me to showcase my soulful voice and really show off my vocal range due to the low and very high notes in the song.
This is my bands third original song which is an R&B track. In this song, I play an organ style on the keyboard to match the calm vibes of the song.
This is a video from my old band called "The Skivers". We decided to cover "if i aint got you" by Alicia Keys as it was one of my favourite songs to sing and is a massive crowd pleaser.
This is a challenge we were given to cover a first year bands song. I learnt the entire song on piano by ear as well as singing the vocal harmonies on the chorus.

MUSIC JOURNALISM
This is a rehearsal video of my band practicing for our upcoming December gig. This particular song is our second original song called "Lesson Learnt" inspired by PREP and The 1975.
I want to study music journalism at BIMM university in Brighton. I regularly perform and attend gigs and open mic nights, and I love attending music events. I have two main passions, which are music and creative writing, so music journalism would be the perfect career for me.
I wrote the majority of the lyrics for both of Novacane's songs: Conscience Alley and Lesson Learnt. I also write original music which I am yet to officially release.
Music Journalism offers a variety of opportunities including being able to travel the world, and attend gigs and festivals on a regular basis, which is what I want to do more than anything in my future. I don't want to conform to the rules of society, settling for a mundane, 9 to 5 job and not being able to reach my full potential to express myself creatively through music and writing. I believe music journalism will allow me to reach my full potential.
This photo was taken at our first band photo shoot in a small town outside of Oxford. We decided to take our photo outside of brightly painted houses to represented our funk style and genre.
