BAND PRACTICE AND PRODUCTION WEEK 7

This week we planned to rehearse and prepare to record three songs at SAE on the 9th November. Unfortunately, we didn’t have our third song finished, so we will only be recording our two songs “Conscience Alley” and “Lesson Learnt”.

On Tuesday, we continued to try writing our third original, however, none of us were feeling the song, so at the moment, we are going to shelve our third original and come back to it perhaps after we have written another song. After sorting that out, we continued to rehearse our first two songs.

On Wednesday, in our production lesson, we recorded Ellies lead vocal for “Conscience Alley” and it sounded fantastic. We have almost finished recording now, we just have to record my backing harmonies and verse 2 as well as the minimal keys in the background of the song. Here is a short clip of some of the work we did in our production lesson:

On our Thursday rehearsal, we helped the first years to rehearse for their cover for our song for the song swap challenge and they helped us to learn their song “I Don’t Need You”.

On Friday, we went to SAE to start recording our first two originals. So far, we have recorded bass, most of the guitar, drums, and keys. All that is left now are vocals and finishing touches for guitar. I have written more about this in my “Recording at SAE” blog post.
