Halloween Gig Preparation

Novacane have written two original songs for our October “Work in Progress” gig. These songs are “Conscience Alley” and “Lesson Learnt”. I am confident that we are going to do well in this gig, although we only have two songs, we have rehearsed them to a high standard and I feel that we all know our individual parts well. We have been very positive and productive during our rehearsals as our main target in this gig is to create somewhat of an audience for our upcoming music. Here are some rehearsal clips of us preparing for the gig:

We have decided to perform our second original “Lesson Learnt” first, so that we can the gig with “Conscience Alley” which we feel is our better song of the two, and is a crowd pleaser.

Our stage plan is that Ellie will be centre stage as she is our lead vocalist. On the left of Ellie will be me, on backing vocals and keys. Behind me, to my right will be Leila playing bass, and on the right of Ellie, Will on guitar.

We have discussed stage presence and we want our first gig as Novacane to be a high energy performance, but not too over the top and robotic. We have decided we are just going to try and

feel the music and focus entirely on what we are playing and having fun rather than being worried about what we look like on stage. If it looks like we are naturally having a good time, hopefully, the audience will mirror our behaviour.

Our Tech Spec is as follows:

- Bass

- Guitar

- Drums

- Keys

- Keys Stand

- 2 Microphones

- One microphone stand to go with the keys

- 2 Jack leads

- Front of house speakers

- 3 wedge amps

- 2 XLR leads

Now that we have thoroughly rehearsed, written our tech spec and discussed stage movement, I am confident about our Halloween performance.
